Md. Zahirul Islam, FCA.

Mr. Zahirul Islam qualified as a Chartered Accountants in 1973 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. Mr. Islam is a Fellow Member of the ICAB. and did his Bachelor of Commerce in 1964 from University of Dhaka. Mr. Islam had started his journey as a practicing Chartered Accountants under the name and style “M.Z. Islam & Co.” Chartered Accountants since 19th April, 1998. Mr. Islam has vast experience in auditing and consulting in various National and Multinational Companies during his long professional carrier.He worked as senior Management Consultant Rahman Huq (KPMG Bangladesh) Chartered Accounts. He served here about 7 years including Article ship.He worked as a chief Accountant of Karnaphuli Complex, Bangladesh. From May 1973 to September 1977. Where he supervised four country largest enterprise named.

2. Karnaphuli Rayon & Chemicals Ltd.
3. Dawood shipping company Ltd.
4. Dawood Corporation Ltd.

As a professional Accountant, regained wide and varied experience in planning conducting supervising statutory and Non statutory Audit in a Large number of organization.He worked as a senior Audit Specialist of National oil corporation (NOC) Tripoli, Libya formerly Occidental of Libya Inc. an American oil company operating in joint venture with Libyan NOC from 1977 to 1997.

He has spent significant time of his carrier abroad while he was engaged as Senior Audit Specialist in National Oil Corporation, Tripoli, Libya. He was responsible for performing audit at various ventures of National Oil Corporation including Occidental. Mr. Islam has worked as Chief Accountants in Karnaphuli Complex Bangladesh which includes Karnaphuli Paper Mills Limited, Karnaphuli Rayon and Chemicals Limited, Dowood Shipping Company Limited and Dawood Corporation Limited. He also served SKM Jute Mills Ltd.   Mr. Islam has acquired training in many areas of accounting and finance. He has training and fair knowledge in computer program.

Mohammad Fakhrul Alam Patwary, FCA.

Managing Partner.

Mr. Patwary Obtained Honor’s 1999 and Masters 2000 in Accounting from Jagannath University college and did his MBA (finance) from BRAC University, Bangladesh. He did his Masters in Law (LL.M) and Registered as Advocate with Bangladesh Bar council also Member of Dhaka Bar Association. He did his another Master in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of Dhaka, he is an executive Member of Criminology Association of Dhaka University. He is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Bangladesh (IIBA). The Institute of Certified General Accountants Of Bangladesh (ICGAB).

He on a regular basis contribute to number of standing and other Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Bangladesh (ICAB) Mr. Patwary  had started his journey as a practicing Chartered Accountants under the name and style “M.Z. Islam & Co.” Chartered Accountants since 2014.Mr Patwary is a dedicated professional and an active participant in the development of accountancy profession for the last 17 year’s. Since his Article registration as Article student in 2012 and qualified as Chartered Accountant in 2011. He has expertise in auditing particularly in manufacturing, financial institutions and insurance companies. He has also in depth capabilities in Corporate Affairs, Financial Reporting (IFRS, US GAAP) Internal Auditing and Accounting Services, Project Evaluation and Appraisal, Corporate Finance. He has on the job experience in Real Estate Business as CFO of Universal Developers & Builders (UDBL).He also gathered training on Public Procurement Rules, provided by NAPD under Ministry of Planning. He got training Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing provided by ICAB.

He is a social worker and Member of Leon’s club International. At present he is president of lion’s club of Dhaka centennial Green and region chairperson of lion’s District 315 Al Bangladesh. Mr. Patwary also attends various live and recorded programs of Television.

He loves traveling has so far traveled across the country covering Australia, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India.

Md. Matiur Rahman, FCA, FCMA

Md Matiur Rahman is with extensive experience in Finance, Planning, Strategic Management, Auditing (Both internal and External), Accounting and Costs Managements. Born in 1970. He completed his Graduation and Masters in Accountancy from the University of Dhaka. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and as well as a Fellow Costs and Management Accountant (FCMA). He joined M. Z. Islam & Co. as Partner from June 01, 2022.

He has over 20 years’ industry experience with more than 10 years’ in the world’s leading multinational company named G4S Plc. As CFO and Company Secretary of G4S, he carried out the leading role in governance function, directing towards the achievement of the company’s vision, mission, strategy, annual goals and objectives. Besides he also served in, EDISON Group, a premier Cell phone hand set manufacturing company in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh), “Kleenheat Gas”, a leading LPG Company in Australia, New York Meat Processing Corporation, a Halal meat processing company in USA.

He started “Learn from Mistakes” a leading Consultancy, Executive development, Resource Management and ERP solution firm in September 2018. Since then, he is fully involved in Business Consultancy, Financial Advisory, Leadership and Motivational Trainings and ERP solutions for his clients across various sectors.

Also skilled in International Business Development, Fund Raising, Negotiation, Strategic Planning, and Joint Ventures. Strong business development professional with a knack for next big thing globally in the Textiles, Apparels, Agriculture, Food, Technology, Horticulture, Consumer Products, Media and Publications Business.

Besides Bangladesh he has served in UK, USA and Australia and well travelled in many countries across Asia, Middle East and North America.

A practicing chartered accountant with enrollment number 1568 started practice in early 2023 with M.Z. Islam & Co, Chartered Accountants; as Partner, acquired commanding skills and professional skepticism in clients audit and control related services, company formation, VAT & income tax planning and management, appeal hearings, designing of grounds for appeal submissions, attending hearings with results. Before joining as Partner in 2023, served in BRAC, and major assignments were: (i) Consolidation of Accounts, (ii) Attending income tax returns and tax planning and fund management. (iii) preparing grounds for appeal submission, attending hearings before the commissioner of taxes and the appellate tribunals, and assisting in strengthening regulatory framework encompassing company law, VAT, and income tax compliances.
